Conditions

My dog has a bad odor; can any of the DOUXO® products help?

Some dog breeds have a stronger natural odor than others. Some dogs are also prone to seborrhea and they may produce excess oils (sebum), which can lead to a rancid, unpleasant odor and a greasy feel.

The DOUXO® Seborrhea line can help re-balance the production of oils (sebum) and skin cells, therefore helping normalize skin cell turnover.

If your dog has a strong odor that is not resolved with DOUXO® Seborrhea, contact your veterinarian to discuss possible causes and treatment options.

My pet has dandruff; can any of the DOUXO® products help?

The DOUXO® Seborrhea line of products may help with dandruff. It helps re-balance the production of oils (sebum) and skin cells and help normalize skin cell turnover.

However, various skin conditions can lead to dandruff, so we always recommend consulting with your veterinarian before using any DOUXO® product. Your veterinarian can recommend the best DOUXO® product for your pet.

Will the DOUXO® Mousse or Micro-emulsion Spray make my pet greasy?

No, the mousse and micro-emulsion spray will not make the skin of your dog or cat greasy, unless it is over-applied. The mousse and micro-emulsion spray will not leave residue on the hair or on the skin. Brush the coat of your dog or cat once the mousse or micro-emulsion spray has dried.

My dog is very itchy; can any of the DOUXO® products help?

We always recommend consulting with your veterinarian before using any products to ensure that you are using the right product for the condition.

If a dog or cat is itchy due to an allergy (that is not infected), DOUXO® Calm products can help soothe the itch and moisturize the skin.

My cat sheds excessively; can any of the DOUXO® products help?

Like every mammal, cats and dogs shed their hair periodically. However, in our homes where temperatures are rather constant, natural cycles tend to disappear and some animals shed their hairs all year long. If your animal sheds its' fur excessively, it may be because of scratching or intense licking. Sometimes, they may also fall out and not re-grow because of a disease of the hair follicle. Your veterinarian will help recommend the right DOUXO®  product for your pet.

Note: even after a skin condition has resolved, a hair can take 20 days to grow.
